Willemite with Apatite and Franklinite Franklin Mine, Franklin, Franklin Mining District, Sussex Co., New Jersey 9.9cm x 5.1cm x 4.2cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A unique, old time example of willemite from Franklin!!! This specimen consists of a dense mass of oddly colored, deep red willemite that hosts an area of very dark blue apatite and scattered granular franklinite!!! There are some small areas of yellowish translucent willemite present as well!!! Upon close inspection, one can see that there are discernable willemite crystals, with outer zones of yellowish, present under the areas of granular franklinite!!! The apatite shows some sharp crystal faces and tiny areas of clarity with intense blue color!!! The willemite fluoresces a bright yellow-green under SW UV!!! Old material!!!
