Aside from the two areas of matrix, this entire specimen is comprised of highly complex crystals of witherite!!! There are curiously elongated crytals, plate-like tabular crystals, and all kinds of other complex crystal forms present!!! Nearly every surface of the translucent witherite is covered with networks of sharply defined crystal faces!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!!
