Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, 19th century example of wulfenite from this classic locale!!! This is an exceptional example of the species for this locality!!!
This specimen hosts a rich showing of lustrous, razor-sharp bipyramidal crystals of wulfenite in association with tiny crystals of
cerussite on massive galena!!! There are some other unidentified species in association as well!!!
The crystals have grayish tan color and, upon close inspection one can see that some of the crystals have alternating zones of color as well!!!
The cerussite crystals have highly complex, somewhat blocky habits with sharp, lustrous faces!!! This specimen is in fantastic
condition all around and displays magnificently in person!!! This specimen dates to the 19th century!!! This specimen is from the
Sorbonne Mineral Museum in Paris and retains an old, hand scripted label!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 28th!!!
