Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, classic example of wulfenite from the Hilltop Mine in Arizona!!! These old time Hilltop wulfenites are scarcely seen
on today's market and highly sought after by collectors!!! This old time beauty was collected by Ed Over and Art Montgomery in the 1930's and was just recently
acquired from the collection of A.J. Beres!!! This specimen consists of a broad plate of matrix that is covered with sharp, highly complex crystals of yellow-orange
wulfenite!!! The crystals are quite thick, with highly lustrous edges and very complex habits and faces!!! The crystals range in size up to 1.7cm!!! While this specimen
has some damage, it is WAY better than the pictures show - the highly complex
nature of the wulfenite crystals make it difficult to fully appreciate in the pics!!!
The majority of the crystals are in fantastic condition and the specimen is quite showy and displayable!!! The damage is localized in such a way that the specimen could still be
split into two significant, relatively undamaged specimens!!! This is OLD, CLASSIC material and pristine, undamaged specimens are rarely encountered!!! This specimen
retains an old typewritten note that notes that the specimen was collected by Ed Over and Art Montgomery in the 1930's (it also related to the recipient to "Hang on to this one" and "Many
collections would want this"!)!!! Simply a magnificent old time classic from Arizona!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person
to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
