Description/Interesting Notes:
A very rare example of PRIMARY wulfenite from Argentina!!! Wulfenite is almost always found as a secondary species, however this is an incredibly rare - and fine -
example of primary wulfenite that has been
deposited by gaseous deposition in a high-temp volcanic fumarole!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of complex
octahedral and bladed hematite crystals that hosts numerous sharp crystals of wulfenite scattered throughout!!! The crystals are razor-sharp, brilliantly lustrous, gemmy, and have
rich orange color!!! These crystals are EXCEPTIONAL for the locality!!! Considering that the elements responsible for the wulfenites' formation
are present in minute concentrations (parts ber billion!) these crystals must've taken an incredibly long time to form!!! The wulfenite crystals range in size up to nearly 4mm!!!
The white material present is actually anglesite and upon close inpection there are significant opaque crystals to several millimeters present as well!!! This is truly incredible material - one of the most
exciting and intruiging specimens I have seen in some time!!!
As far as I understand, there were just a few of these specimens and we were lucky enough to acquire one - the best one at that!!! This locality
is known for its unique hematite crystals, however it is actually a national park and collecting today is strictly prohibited!!! You do not want to miss out on this
extraordinary rarity!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice (there are MANY more crystals than the pics show)!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS
