Description/Interesting Notes: An extraordinary example of wurtzite from this famous tanzanite locale!!! There were just a handful of these extraordinary, gemmy wurtzites recovered in a tiny find made at this locality best known for its tanzanite!!! This wurtzite crystal exhibits a complex hexagonal pyramidal habit with lustrous faces and well defined striations!!! There is a small amount of calcite and graphite in association as well!!! The crystal has dark color, however with some backlighting one can see that the crystal is indeed gemmy and shows a deep amber-red color!!! The small handful of these specimens that were recovered were almost instantaneously snatched up by collectors and all but disappeared!!! Truly an incredible example of the species!!!
