Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent old time example of zaratite from Pennsylvania!!! This specimen hosts an intensely colorful showing of emerald green zaratite in association with tiny complex crystals of dolomite and pyroaurite on a matrix of dark black chromite!!! The zaratite is surprisingly thick, gem clear, glassy, and has choice, intense emerald green color!!! Upon close inspection one can see that the dolomite crystals are actually complex, translucent, rice grain-like crystals!!! There are tiny platy crystals of tan-orange pyroaurite present as well!!! This specimen has an old affixed label that says: "Emerald Nickel - Wood's Mine Texas Lancaster Co." as well!!! The pics simply don't capture just how intense and showy this specimen is in person!!!
