Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific example of zincite from Franklin!!! This specimen consist of a large, rich example of deep red to orange-red zincite in association with other species!!! The
specimen is mostly solid zincite with rich, deep color!!! The lighter colored areas are actually a very light pink color and don't show any significant fluorescence!!! There is one small
portion of lighter colored material on one corner that fluoresces greenish under SW UV!!! There are also a few small tanish colored, translucent areas that fluoresce reddish under SW UV and under LW UV as well - with a pronounced bluish
phosphorescence afterwards!!! There is a dusty "sheen" of yellow green fluorescence on the bright orange, crusty areas of zincite as well!!! There are also numerous tiny crystals of
franklinite scattered about as well!!! The zincite is rather crystalline in areas and has fantastic color!!! This specimen needs to be seen in person to be
fully appreciated!!! The affixed label, I am told, came from Neal Yedlin!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
