Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of rare zorgite from the type locality!!! Zorgite is actually the name given to a specific combination of rare species
found at this locality!!! Zorgite is a combination of rare selenides - tiemannite, clausthalite, and umangite!!! This specimen is quite rich and
clearly hosts other species in association as well!!! One of the associated species is the rare and colorful copper selenide, chalcomenite!!! The chalcomenite has an
intense blue color that, in person, stands out quite dramatically!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope there are other crystals of chalcomenite to be found as well!!! This
is a magnificent, old time example of numerous rare selenide species in association from Germany!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice - there
is a lot more going on than the pics show!!! This specimen is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and retains an old label and affixed catalogue number as well!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
